Welcome

If you are looking for information on ESG, Sustainable, ethical investment etc., then you have come to the right place.

The Accord Initiative is an innovative project designed primarily to support financial services professionals to provide advice on ESG, Sustainable, ethical and green finance. This section, however, has been designed to inform and educate Individual investors on how sustainable finance works and what to look for when seeking financial advice.

The focus of the information we provide is to help you get the most out of your relationship with a financial adviser. It is not meant to help you ‘go it alone’ and it does not constitute financial advice in any form.

We believe the only way to ensure good outcomes for your sustainable financial planning is to seek financial advice. For sustainable finance, it needs to be an adviser who has demonstrated a knowledge of all the options and, importantly, has an embedded process to deliver the best financial advice.

We plan to open further sections of this part of the website site, but in the meantime, you may find the following helpful:

Find a Sustainable Adviser database

If you are looking for financial advice now, have a look at our 'find a sustainable adviser' database. This lists financial advice and planning firms that have a process in place to deliver good client outcomes for those who are looking for advice on sustainable finance. We use the term ‘embedded process because it demonstrates that the financial advice and planning firm is ready to provide advice on sustainable finance without being prompted.

Some firms can provide advice on this area, but they wait until the client asks. This isn’t an embedded process; it is a reaction to being asked. It is not for you, the client, to raise issues about how your money should be invested. A good adviser will have a reliable process in place to ask the right things, in the right way, at the right time.

All of the advisers listed in our database have agreed to follow our Guiding Principles for advice firms.
